A Rendezvous with the Goddess....

There's this yet another amusing anecdote -showing the 'Magnificent Obsession' of the Goddess with Her ardent Devotee(s):-

..That day He got up early as usual, even before the first rays of the Sun could kiss the soft feet of 'Mother Earth'! He-after completing his morning rituals, inclusive of a fervent pooja, sat before the writing-desk to resume the devotional verses on his Goddess!

'He' was none other than the Poet-Supremo Kalidasa!!
Just in a few minutes his bosom friend and a magnanimous person at heart, entered Kalidasa's home. With a host of persons accompanying him, he entered with an air of elegance. He was so close to Kalidasa in all aspects ..that Kalidasa would never ever deny any of his requests...

But, this one was quite strange:
The friend wanted Kalidasa to write an 'Elegy' on Him!
Kalidasa least expected this kind of a whimsical desire from the kind lad;.'coz elegies are written only for the dead & departed!??!
But who would have the guts to deny, when the plea was put forward by a charismatic personality as King Bhojaraja!

Still, with a degree of hesitancy, Kalidasa went ahead--
He sang such a beautiful elegy, with each of the verses highlighting the multi-dimensional facets of the great King. All in all, Kalidasa's elegy was akin to a beautiful garland strewn of various, multi-hued, fragrant blossoms!!

Kalidasa's words were sung out of pure and overwhelming Love....for his friend's 'Death'?!
Now who resides in his tongue?
-saatchath 'Devi Saraswathi(ma).
Then how will the elegy become false?-King Bhojaraja at first fell unconscious and then DIED!!!
The Poet Supremo realized everything..and pleaded with Goddess Saraswathi to 'bring' his friend back.

Though it was against the law of nature 'She' did not want to see Her favourite devotee, standing before the King's body and sobbing like a child anymore. She 'brought back' the King alive...who got up fresh as if from a trance!!

The three-by-fourth minutes that the King was 'dead'-Kalidasa sang moving verses to Goddess Saraswathi..which even today stands as a master-piece in the world of devotional Literature..by the name,
"Bhojasambu".
